Tilligerry Connect is a site especially designed for those who live in Salt Ash, Oyster Cove, Tanilba Bay, Mallabula and Lemon Tree Passage and includes community groups, schools, preschools, fun activities, health and wellbeing services, businesses, land, environment and animal care and more. Our mission:
To provide counselling support, information and advocacy for our clients, enabling them to develop strategies to sustain physical and psychological wellbeing and supporting those at imminent risk of homelessness.
Our Services
We provide face to face individual counselling for both male and female clients recovering from violence/abuse suffered anytime during their life, grief and loss, depression, relationship breakdown/separation.
Referral to Specialist Housing Services for housing assistance.
Provide legal support with a monthly community legal clinic.
We can offer Workcover counselling with a specialist workcover accredited counsellor.
We have a Victims Services Counsellor to see clients making a victims services claim.
During and after personal counselling we offer Therapy Groups (off site) dealing with many subjects and issues
Our counsellors can provide counselling for children individually however we often need to provide strategies for parents and their children to deal with the realities of break up and recovery from domestic violence.
All counsellors are trained in working with couples. We do not currently have a male counsellor however, we have always seen men committed to counselling.
We provide a telephone information service for anyone ringing in for information and refer on to the appropriate services in their areas.
We have an open door policy for ex clients to return for support when things get a bit overwhelming. They can always come back.
Referrals come to the service from many churches, community groups and agencies – just ring us or email.
We provide lots of material aid each year to families in need, all with the assistance of generous local community groups.
We can help out with food throughout the year. – supported by Churches and the local community.
Frozen meals donated by Uniting Church – also donated large freezer.
Maintenance and Gardening by BayServe volunteers – Baptist Church.
Crocheted Rugs and Pamper Packs – generously donated by Port Stephens Legacy and All Saints Nelson Bay
